kukupa The NZ Native Wood Pigeon   KereruNew Zealand has some very unique bird species – many of which are seriously diminishing in numbers. Our national icon, the kewi, is a case in point.  Sadly, our wilderness is diminishing, and the protection of wilderness is what all these birds need if they are to survive.
